Accepting Payments: Understanding the Verification Process

You can start accepting payments with Talo Payments almost immediately.

Your account still needs to be verified before it can be fully active.


Verification Rules

  • Individual Account: You must complete your Talo Payments setup in the same country where your bank is located.

  • Business Account: Your business must be registered in the same country where your business bank account is located. You must also complete your Talo Payments setup in that same country.

Note: EU residents may submit bank statements from other EU countries.


Verification Process

The verification process requires you to submit your details for account setup. We review your details to ensure that your business complies with our list of prohibited products and services.

During this process, we may request more information, such as a copy of a valid government issued photo ID and a copy of your bank statement. These need to be uploaded to your Payments Dashboard to verify your identity. This may take up to 7 business days.

If you do not complete account setup within 30 days, you will not be able to accept any more payments through your site.

Depending on your account type, use the correct checklist to make sure you're providing the requested information correctly:


Individual Account Checklist

Personal Information

  • Make sure your first, middle, last name and date of birth match your photo ID.

  • Check that your bank account number is correct.

  • Enter a physical address. PO Boxes are not accepted.

  • Upload an address document (such as a utility bill) dated within the last 6 months.

Business Description

  • Enter your “Doing Business As” name.

  • Select your industry from the dropdown.

  • Add a short description of your services.

If Requested

  • Upload a color copy of your photo ID.

  • Upload a bank statement.

Allow up to 7 business days for verification. If verification has not completed after 7 business days and all information is correct, contact Talo Support.


Business Account Checklist

Personal + Company Information

  • Make sure your first, middle, last name and date of birth match your photo ID.

  • Check that your bank account number is correct.

  • Your company name and registration number/tax ID must match your official records.

  • Your statement descriptor should be similar to your business name or URL.

  • Enter a physical address. PO Boxes are not accepted.

  • Upload any requested documents such as business registration papers to confirm your address.

Business Details

  • Confirm your Legal Business Name, VAT ID, Business ID, Tax ID, or EIN matches what your bank has on file.

  • If requested, upload proof of VAT ID, Business ID, Tax ID, or EIN.

Business Description

  • Select your industry from the dropdown.

  • Add a short description of your services.

If Requested

  • Upload a color copy of your photo ID.

  • Upload a bank statement.

Allow up to 7 business days for verification. If verification is still pending after 7 business days and all information is correct, contact Talo Support.

How will Talo Payments contact me about verification?

Talo Payments will email you using the email address linked to your account. Remember to check your spam folder if you don’t see an expected email.
