Talo Payments: Failed Payout

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Payouts from Talo Payments are automatically transferred to your bank account on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.

If a payout does not reach your bank, it will appear in your Payouts dashboard as Failed. The payout — along with any other processed funds — is then placed On Hold until the issue preventing the transfer is resolved. Once fixed, all held funds are included in your next scheduled payout.

There are several reasons a payout may fail, such as incorrect bank details or changes at your financial institution. Click the failed payout in your Talo Payments dashboard to see the details and steps needed to resolve the issue.

Tip: You can also view information by clicking Payouts on Hold. The amount shown includes the failed payout plus any additional available funds that could not be sent because of the issue.

To help avoid payout failures, follow the steps below.

Step 1 | Verify the Bank Details Linked to Your Talo Payments Account

Confirm that your bank details are entered correctly.

The bank account holder’s name must match the Talo Payments account owner.

Example:

If your Talo Payments account is under Lauren Jones, but the bank account is named Lauren’s Cakes, the payout will fail.

To verify your bank details:

  1. Go to Getting Paid tab in your dashboard.

  2. Scroll down and click Manage

  3. Review the Bank Details section.

  4. Make corrections if needed and click Save.

Step 2 | Confirm That Your Bank Account Can Receive EFT/ACH Payments

Talo Payments uses EFT transfers (or ACH transfers in the United States).
If a payout fails, check with your bank to confirm your account can accept these transfer types.

If your current account cannot receive EFT/ACH payments, update your Talo Payments settings with a bank account that can — making sure the account holder’s name matches your Talo Payments account.

To update your bank details:

  1. Go to Getting Paid tab in your dashboard.

  2. Scroll down and click Manage

  3. Enter the new bank account information under Bank Details.

  4. Click Save.

Once updated and verified, your funds will be transferred in your next scheduled payout.
