Getting Started
You can process split payments in Talo using:
Talo Pay + cash/other
Talo Pay + gift card
Talo Pay only
A card terminal + additional payment methods
Before processing online split payments, ensure you have:
Payment processing enabled in your Talo workspace
Splitting Payments
Split Payments Using Talo Pay or Cash
Open the Calendar and select the appointment.
Click Checkout.
Add products, services, memberships, or gift cards to the cart.
Click Continue to payment.
Add a tip (optional) and continue.
Select Split payment.
Choose an online method (e.g., card on file, self-checkout, QR code, manual card entry).
Enter the amount the client wants to pay with that method.
Click Add a payment and select another payment method (e.g., cash) for the remaining balance.
Click Pay now to complete the sale.
Split Payments Using Talo Pay Only
Open the Calendar → select the appointment.
Click Checkout and add items.
Continue to payment and add a tip (optional).
Choose Split payment.
Select an online payment method and process the first amount.
Click Pay now to record the first part.
Select Split payment again, then choose the next online payment method.
The remaining balance automatically appears → click Pay now to complete.
After completing all parts, the sale is marked Completed.
Split Payments Using a Card Terminal
Open the Calendar → select the appointment.
Click Checkout and add items.
Continue to payment and add a tip (optional).
Select Split payment.
Choose Card terminal, enter the first amount, and click Save part-paid.
(Tip is added during final checkout.)
The sale is now part-paid.
Click Pay now to continue.
Select Split payment → Card terminal again.
The remaining balance appears automatically → click Pay now.
After completing the remaining payment, the sale becomes Completed.
Tip handling: When using split payments, if any part uses an online method (card on file, terminal, self-checkout, QR code, manual entry), the tip is added during final checkout.
FAQs
How do I split a payment over a single credit card?
If the client’s card has a transaction limit, you can split the total into multiple charges on the same card.
To do this:
At checkout, click Continue to payment → choose Split payment.
Select Manual card payment.
Enter the first amount → click Save part-paid.
In the part-paid pop-up, click Continue.
The remaining total updates automatically.
Click Pay now, repeat the process, and charge the card again until the full balance is paid.
Talo will process multiple transactions on the same credit card until the entire amount is covered.
