What is this charge on my credit card for?

If you’re seeing a charge from us and aren’t sure why, this article will help you quickly identify where it came from and what it means.

Talo operates with two completely different offerings, and only one of them ever results in credit card charges. Here’s how to tell which applies to you:

1. Free Business Software — This Never Charges Your Card

Talo’s booking, scheduling, messaging, CRM, estimates, invoices, payments, memberships, checkout, and team tools are 100% free to use.

There are:

  • No subscription fees

  • No booking fees

  • No commission fees

  • No added transaction fees

  • No charges for taking payments from your clients

If you are using Talo only for running your business operations, Talo does not charge your credit card.

If you’re seeing a charge, it is not related to payment processing or using the booking software.

This means you can confidently rule out anything involving appointments, invoices, customer payments, or credit card fees.

2. Marketing Fees — This Is What Charges Your Card

If you see a credit card charge, it is almost always from our optional Marketing program.

Talo’s Marketing product helps businesses get new customers. You only pay when you choose to respond to a lead. This is a pay-per-lead model—never a subscription and never automatic unless you enable auto-Targeting.

Marketing charges occur when:

  • You respond to a lead

  • You have Targeting turned on and have opted into auto-payments

  • You actively use paid Marketing features

Important clarifications:

  • These charges have nothing to do with you accepting payments from your customers.

  • These charges are not processing fees.

  • Marketing is completely optional. You can run your business on Talo entirely free without ever paying for leads.
